Al Getler has been with CNHI in both New England and New York since 2006. Previously, he was with Community Newspaper Company in Massachusetts under Herald Media’s ownership. From 1995 until 2003, Getler was publisher of The Advocate in Newark, Ohio, as well as three weekly newspapers and vice president of marketing and circulation for the Newspaper Network of Central Ohio, a Gannett Group. He began his career in New Jersey at North Jersey Media Group/The Record and at The Press of Atlantic City.
Getler is the founder and past president of the Newark Midland Theatre Association where he oversaw the rebirth of an $8.5 million renovated theater and built a $3.5 million endowment for the 1928 circa theater. In 2003 he received the Rotary International BRAVO award for his humanitarian efforts.
