 At this weeks meeting

 Birthdays:

Yvonne Allard, 5 foot 2, eyes of blue, etc. etc.  The  Feinman Brothers may have been out of line dedicating this one to Yvonne.

New Member:

Rachel Ortiz became a new member at our last meeting in December, and the editor was delinquent in putting this into the Wheel.  Rachel was introduce by Tony Lopez and is a banker with Eastern Bank.  We welcome, you, Rachel.

Announcements:

Valentine Raffle:  Alan Shafer, again reminds us of the Valentine Day Raffle:  For $5 you get one chance, and for $10 you get three chances to win:  a dozen roses (thank you Frank), two movie passes, and a $50 gift certificate to Amalfies Restaurant.

Dinner at Jocelyn's:  And don't forget the dinner on Friday Feb 17, at Jocelyn's.

Parking:  Thanks to Dr. Joe, the school has reserved parking for Rotarians in the front lot and along the side.  This means that late arrivals may be able to avoid our wicked finemasters.

Salvation Army:  Captain Charlie Foster of the Salvation Army thanked the Club for helping them surpass their Kettle Income goal of $50,000 by hitting $53,000.  Good work, you frozen Bell Ringers.

Explanation needed:  The annual bet between Felci and Hunter continues to entertain us, but at the expense of John Felci.  The moose horns are a result of again betting against the New England Patriots.  (Picking Detroit Lions to be in the Super Bowl???)  At least we can laugh at these antics, but I am a little worried about the next bet:  the loser has to sing their school Fight Song!  Spare us please.

GUEST SPEAKER:

And here I thought we were going to hear the life story of Keurig Coffee Corporation.  But to my surprise, Chris Stevens does superb vocal impersonations, is a motivational speaker, life coach, salesman, and author!

Johnny Most is back!  Chris Stevens, Marketing Director of Keurig Corp., can do impersonations of numerous Boston sports announcers.  To the point, if I closed my eyes, I would have thought that Johnny Most was in the room.

Chris could go on the speaking circuit as a motivational speaker, a life coach, teach how to be a successful salesperson, or entrepreneur.  Chris was well prepared, well rehearsed, with a smooth delivery.  In other words, a real winner.

I loved the one about when making a sales presentation, the selling process doesn't start until the prospect says "No".  That is when you find out why the answer was no, and take it from there.

And then there was the story about the talking dog.  (He lies)

Now about Keurig:  Chris was one of the four founders 14 years ago.  His first sales trip was in his station wagon loaded with Keurig and his kids to New York City.  As he said, why do we brew a whole pot of coffee when we drink it by the cup?  He peddled his entire load, and 14 years later, sold the company to Green Mountain Coffee.  Sales are now skyrocketing.  Rabbi Goldstein had met Chris previously and came up to speak to him after the presentation.

Chris didn't have time to finish his talk, but he e-mailed his power point to me and in it I learned that he authored a book.  It is about a Notre Dame friend who had Lou Gehrig's disease.  I recommend you google: "Fighting to Give", or go on to Amazon.com, Fighting to Give.

By the way, Chris has donated 4 Keurig Coffee Brewers (aka coffee cookers) which were raffled off to members.  The winners: J. Giordano, B. Sechrist, R. Goldstein (R for Robert or Rabbi), and yours truly.  And finally, the deck of cards will return to 52 cards next week as Scott Dickinson won $307
